I dont worry about dog food as long as it says complete on the bag. I even give them table snacks once in a rare while. Like today they got the hamburger grease over their food. I used to feed Science diet only and yes, they ate less and pooped less but then they go and eat all the cat turds .

I got peach on Merrick grain free senior stuff. She’s doing alright on it.

They don’t offer a not grain free senior food so...there I am.

My parents dog, however....mini schnauzer recently had a heart scare and they think it’s related to that.

I’ve had Peach flip flopping her whole life between grain free and not so grain free (depending on availability and affordability at the time). She recently had the full range of bloodwork done and came back all clear so *shrug* maybe the chicken food and/or poop she sneaks has her covered lol.

You can’t go by blood work. The only way to tell is by a heart ultrasound. They have had dogs perfectly fine drop dead.
The only four foods they recommend are purina, Royal canin aims eukanuba and science diet.
