Sorry about your cockerel, Cap.I don't think he will make it, but both of us are trying. Going to have to check all three of the others.

That sounds like Granny's recipe!I use self rising flour self rising corn meal, an egg and milk. It dont need oil.Just in the pan. I use more corn meal then flour like 3/4th flour to one cup corm meal but more of each.
yeah, poor guy. He sounds pretty far gone, but you are giving him a chance. Some suger water or electrolytes could help.I don't think he will make it, but both of us are trying. Going to have to check all three of the others.
Probably was the gallons of permectin I sprayed in the coops. I sprayed even when there weren't mites. Haven't had to this year. I check weekly. I get the red roost mites though. They lay eggs in the coop instead of the birds and come crawling out at night to eat. Nasty thingsDid you make this??? Who's teeth did you steal? lol
Thanks, Granny! I think she used maybe a cup of flour and a cup and a half of corn meal. Does that sound about right? Then, maybe a cup and a half of milk? Or would that be too much? She just poured it in "till it was right," and she cooked it "till it was done," lol. My brain does not work that way, I need measurements! That sounds like Granny's recipe!![]()
Do you have a favorite breed now?
maybe a cup of milk a little thicker then cake batter. The thinner it is the higher it will rise and you really dont want a cake. I cook til done but not brown. I use the broil to brown it so it dont over cook. Your welcome. I hope it turns out for youThanks, Granny! I think she used maybe a cup of flour and a cup and a half of corn meal.
