that sounds like a good plan...I couldn't stay longer...my other DD was here staying with Spud and watching my baby chicks..she's afraid of the big hens lol wuzz..She had to get back to work Monday so i had to get home..

Can your hubs stay on his own? Is he doing better now? He could take care of things for you.

yes he could ..he is ok now..

I loved my SS and still regret selling them off. Sorry, wishing, it's awful boyish looking. Did you see my 2-week-old roo?

He ought to have a big blue BOY label stuck on him... crowing already! I like it when you can tell so early, but it's the late bloomers that break my heart when I get all attached and hopeful. What breed is he? Isabel color?

I have had one female EE chick do this, but other than that, that behavior has always been male. I have terrible luck getting sexed pullet males! Do you like the sussex chicks? The breed description sounds perfect... calm, quiet, excellent layers... then of course we all know the wonderful Sparkles Nugget.

i have the same luck with straight run..i do like the sussex, camps were so pretty when she had them..these didn't make a sound and it took 3 hours to get home with them..yesssss Nugget is terrific..love her..

He has a hot pink leg band. he's 3/4 isabel leghorn and 1/4 legbar. I -think- he's only got one copy of the barring gene. The overwhelming majority look male at this point, but we'll see. I've never had leghorns, and their combs are so big.
All this positive sussex talk... I better get into town and see if they have any left! :frow
yes hurry up..takes pics too..
i need a nap bbl
Good luck you two! :frow
