Granny I counted about 30 roosters today in the grow out pen that are eligible for freezer camp this morning.

We also have a cast iron dutch oven with lid for making baked beans in. I picked up a can of baked beans with jalapeno today and we had some of it for lunch. I was expecting some heat but not enough pepper to make it hot even for Ma who is a bland eater. So now we need to get that bean pot out and some navy beans, tomato paste, dark brown sugar, some jalapeno and poblano peppers from the garden, and onion and make a big pot of beans from scratch and then pressure can them.

sounds yummy! I use bbq sauce catsup a pinch of mustard, onion, bacon grease. I think thats it

One of my projects is to learn how to make a medium jalapeno BBQ sauce that Ma can eat too. One rich in flavor without the heat. May have to grow some of the mild jalapenos that have no heat. They are as mild as a bell.

It's awful hot to be making and eating chili but I have these fresh poblano peppers that are making me drool for a bowl of good chili.

Sounds good to me. I dont use peppers though. Im a wimp!
