Granny's gone and done it again

I've always fallen right back into my chair when getting up from a chair. It's the bed that scares me a little. Falling back on the bed is nerve racking when you bounce up and then fall on the floor.
Larry, could you put a little table or even a walker next to your bed to grab hold of as you stand up to balance yourself?

Are you bouncing on your bed like a trampoline, young man? I told you to stop doing that!

referrals at Drs. Called to make an appt. and they wont take my insurance. Wonderful. :hit
Then they need to find a doctor to refer you to who does.

:rant:he:rantI hate insurance companies. First law of the new order. Round up all insurance companies and run them off a cliff. World would be a better place. Or as an Amish guy told me once. Only people who get rich are the insurance companies.

I wasn't feeling any better this morning so I knuckled down and called my doctor. They were booked but told me to come in and they would work me in. I did and they did. Doc thinks at this point my colitis is acting up again. RX for two antibiotics later and I was out the door a little after noon. Got to go back for routine labs in 2 weeks then later in the month go back to review them. I get my prescriptions at the local HyVee grocery in Kirksville and I know their record for getting things done in a timely manner so I decided to stop and have fun at the local Crossing Thrift Store. Spent 45 minutes there before heading up the road for my RXs. Only to be told they weren't ready yet. They have a huge pharmacy there 6 or 7 pharmacists and more techs. Plus they were giving out flu shots right and left so I was told maybe 20 minutes. Okay. I grabbed a cart, strolled around and bought a few things. Almost 20 minutes later went back. Nope, still weren't ready. It was 1:30 at that point. I'd been there since 1:09. Plopped tired backside into a chair in the waiting area and watched people come and go. Got bored, went and bought a few more things then wandered back. It was 1:49 by then. YAY! Meds ready, paid for those and headed for check out. Got in back of a sweet, adorable little old gal in her late 80s at least who was hard of hearing. Had a blast listening to her. Funny. I'm 71 but anybody in their 80s is a little old lady or little old man. I'm sure the people in their 50s call me the same thing.

Left the store at 2:09 and drove home. DH was getting worried about me. I told him my ordeal and he said yeah, and just think of how long you would have waited if you hadn't hit The Crossing.

I did see one thing that just floored me. Remember when good old Kraft mac and cheese in the box was like 50 cents a box? I found it today and it was like 1.68 a box. Bout passed out when I saw that. Kirksville is a college town having both Truman University and Stills there. Mac and cheese and Ramen are a staple for college students. Which is why the shelves were mostly empty but........

Been sorting chickens and have one more coop to go. We came in just long enough to eat a bite. Need to finish my tea and move the last dozen in the rooster coop farther out into a bigger coop for a bit and the 5 Sapphire Gems into the outdoor grow out pen. I hate playing musical coops.
I decided this year that I really hate it too. Especially when I'm doing the musical coop thing with chicks I hatched this spring. It was one of the things that made me come to the decision that this was my last hatch. That and the fact that I saw two chicks with birth defects.

I did learn a lot from my breeding for Marek's resistance program. It is possible to do. In the past 7 years I have lost one bird to MD like symptoms out of all the birds that I've hatched in that time. My bantams are still showing resistance as are the Bantam/Amish barnyard bird crosses and the Egyptian Fayoumi/Amish barnyard cross birds.

So now I'm just sitting back and enjoying my flock.

We have a daughter in law who got her degree from Kirksville. Seems like many ages ago since we were in Kirksville. She married our second son who went some to Maryville and then joined the Air Force. Now that lake in your area I can almost say the name but it is south of Macon is where we used to take the kids to ride their water toys behind the boat. The lake is a reservoir actually with a power plant on it. Thomas Hill Reservoir was our playground.
