I wish I could afford a female for this old man!!
What a pretty boy!!!!!

I think I achieved my goal!!!!! The kitchen is in better standing. Living room dusted and dejunked. Garage more empty. Tried to hide all the pine needles of the drive but that was a losing battle. Devin doesn't want to go anywhere today so I guess we are just gonna stay home.

You wanted a road trip... come to my house! I need serious help with the decluttering aspect of life. 3rd generation pack rat I am. It's always easier to sort someone else out than sort yourself. Hope your folks appreciate what you've done.

It really is easier to declutter someone else's stuff. I have all my stuff in storage. You would think I would take the time to go through everything and downsize while I can. Lol yep, not gonna happen.

I'm way over 50% grey on top, but in the back, there is still color, so my ponytail looks youngish, but it's mostly white hair around my face. When the kids were in grade school, some people thought I was their grandma.

And that was 10 years ago!

Rats are out in a shed and squeeze into the run after dark. If I was not so lazy, I would pick up all the food at night and lock it away, but then I'd worry they'd start coming to the house to look for food. no no! ..... traps.... SNAP!

You have Icelandics?? Excellent idea! I didn't realize they have perfect little crests until last week when we were talking about them here. I think I might have to get a couple when my old biddies die off. The coop is pretty full now. Or, I could raise them with the bantams. My huge Orp still tries to go join the serama flock (where she was raised) but she can't fit through the little pop door any more!

Quote: I have boxes of stuff that went into storage that are now in a shed (rat proof shed!). Storage is evil. I was paying to keep stuff I didn't need. Brilliant, huh? Now I'm not paying to keep it, and I still have it! ARGHH! Just can't face it. I will, though, because I am determined to NOT leave my mess for the boys to deal with one day. The barn up at the farm is full of my grandparents' stuff and most of my mom's stuff is still in the house. Dad is trying to lighten the load, but he's not getting very far. I am too sentimental. I see something, and it triggers a memory, and then I can't part with it. I haven't reached hoarding level yet, but it is concerning for sure.

Hey I put this in the incu thread but... ever see an all white gray wedding?
my oldest and his wife, she was in a wedding over the weekend and everyone wore white or gray was beautiful, the bride and all her girls were in wedding gowns!!! was gorgeous too!!

What a lovely couple - and an interesting idea, I had never heard of that.

Mare, hugs. The job hunting thing is hard. Believe me I know it...I went from pretty highly employable up north to....well...nobody wanted me down here. It sucked.

Sigh. House we were supposed to check out tonight magically disappeared off mls this morning. They price dropped on the weekend. I'm hoping it's not a case of we missed out cause our realtor was out of town etc. sigh. Oh well. More time to bankroll.
Thanks for the hugs -- I think that has been the biggest blow for me too, I came into this from having no issues with the last several positions I've gotten to ....NOTHING......it's just frustrating more than anything.
Bummer on the house - especially if it turns out it was because of the ridiculous realtor situation you are trying to work with. Sounds like you are really trying to see the bright side of things, I know that can get exhausting at times

Mornings, I dont have my eyes open yet.
@Sally Sunshine LOL I have never met Twist in person. I was teasing . Someone said maybe I was there and he said I was visiting with Lisa so I ran with it LOL One day...

Im all stuffed up. My house is half way cleaned so I am gonna guess its the chickens or the stuff Rod found in the vents. Probably chickens. I was breathing the dust yesterday. Tom got his sledge hammer out and took a shelf down in there so it was flying pretty thick.

Hand gliding time Wishing ?

I cant remember to respond to everyones posts Like you do Sally, pretty awesome.
Sorry you are feeling icky - hopefully it is just the result of all the wonderful work that got done stirring some stuff up and passes quickly.

My folks get home today. Devin didn't come to bed last night.... It always bothers me when he doesn't but no big deal. I just don't like that forming a habit.
I hope they have a safe trip back home and everyone is happy to see each other again.

I am a racist. I just dont like dogs with a hangy down thing. Never had one . Mom did, Marked everywhere. Cleaning itself while you are trying to eat. Its just gross.
LOL -- yep, strict "no testicle" policy here in this house too!

@Sally Sunshine perfect trend for your white hair.

Yes - LOVE this look - the dark haired version is called "oil slick" (because it ends up looking like oil in a wet parking lot with the colors swirling around in the darkness) -- have been obsessed with the idea for several months, but while working for the state of Indiana had to have 'natural colored hair' and now that I'm job searching I am trying to keep it fairly normal, even if I am in the "keep Portland weird" zone where everyone and their uncle has an odd cut and/or color going on.

So true - I love cleaning and organizing other people's stuff, my own - not so much!
Hi!!!

Ive been so busy with life....haven't really had much time to play online.

Everything is going good....my chickens are growing and they are spoiled rotten! they will be 11 weeks tomorrow...out of the 9
I ordered only one of the EE ended up being a boy!
I have been slacking on my daily walking BUT I still haven't touched a cigarette!!!!!!
I am on the last week of the Chantix and I feel great, but nervous about it being the last week of the medicine.

Anyways...
Im going to pop in and out the next few days to play catch up on this new thread....I am WAY TOO far behind on the old one but I will catch up on it one day!

I hope everyone is doing well.
C ya all soon!
Kiki

Way to go, Kiki, on the smoking! Have you had any negative side effects from the Chantix? Last time DH was considering quitting it was right around the time it had first come out for that and at that time some of the chatter about all the people having negative experiences was enough of an excuse for him not to try.
Discount rooster, camping? Maybe someone would want him...

I just heard that stupid hawk screaming outside. Or did I? We have a mockingbird that does a wicked good hawk call.
roll.png
Now I'm never sure. Maybe the mocker calling keeps away the real hawks. No more kestrel killings, so I've been letting out the seramas, but think I am pushing my luck.
LOL at the mockingbird inpersonator - little buggar might be handy to have around.

Crested bird is next on my list. Just a little crest, like jane's pretty one there.

LOVE the looks of the smaller crests on some of the breeds out there now - I really liked my Polish when I had them, but the crests could be more of a hassle than they were worth for me and the birds, so the smaller crests are like the best of both worlds.

Linda, When my neck and back was hurting she run her little feet off for me. I felt bad about it. Not used to that.

SO glad that you got to enjoy that feeling, Granny, you deserve to feel that way more often --- learn to let people do things for you and to start making those around you do them. There is no reason to feel badly for allowing yourself to be the one being taken care of for once.
I gotta hop in the shower and clean. I'm hoping Devin and I can go for a ride before the kids get home. Love you guys. I'll try to be back.
Oh, how fun, hope you guys get some "you" time -- sounds like you could use it as you seem to be feeling a little disconnected of late.
