Granny's gone and done it again

When I had Lily I'd let her loose while I was cleaning her cage. She attacked a cat... the 3 I have now aren't nearly as nice or smart.

I can't keep weight on 2/3. They eat a ton. Always have pellets and hay. And fresh veggies several times a week. But they are so active!

Aww!

I thought about putting them in the silkie coop...
Maybe your pigs need deworming.

Didn't set an alarm so I'm still in bed. I think I told a couple folks, but I now have THE LICE. :hit I actually picked one out of my hair while driving home from the airport Saturday. That's not a fun discovery at 80 mph. So it's a good thing that I didn't have a sleepover with Kiki. :(

Still having trouble with snakes. Killed two in the coop day before yesterday, one with a belly full of chicks and one with a belly full of eggs. Only four babies left, but one is the little feather-shanked chipmunk that hatched with the wonky legs. It grew out of it and is now totally normal.

Best not to keep guinea pigs on wire. Not good for their feet.

Where do I get my energy? I drink a pot of coffee in the mornings to get revved. Then a splash of wine with lots of soda to wash down the ibuprofen. Iced tea by the pitcher with lemon. More wine spritzer or homemade sangria with fruit juice. I eat two small meals and one huge one a day (lunch is usually big). Nap in the heat, which we call "siesta" around here. Up before the sun, bed usually around 11. I'm not nearly as productive as I was, but then I'm pushing 60 now too. I ran distance in school, like miles and marathon distance. Stamina, not speed is my thing.
When i keep animals on wire, i put boards in as runways for them to walk on. Also a piece of wood big enough to stretch out on and a nest box attached to the side of the cage. They generally pee in the corners so the cage and wood stay clean. Works for me, but i only have bunnies. They grow a lot of hair on their feet and it cushions them.
I am a big believer in slow and steady. When i was young i would do laps in the pool all afternoon. Swam miles in the ocean. I still pace myself. Lots of breaks to type on BYC!

No, it works by sending random sound waves into the ground making vibration that snakes feels with their skull. They write in their description that it doesn't affect any other animal.

I found a few models that were said to repel everything from ants and mosquitoes to rats and moles to snakes. They didn't have very good reviews, but I'll definitely do more research. Thanks Benny!
