It depends on if your rooster has one or two barred genes. Barring gene is dominant and sex linked. In chickens, the female has the short chromosome (sex linked chromosome), so she can only get one copy of the barring gene. If your barred rooster has one gene, then 50% of his female offspring will be barred. If he is double barred, all of the female chicks will be barred.Wishing, have a question. If I use a barred rooster over my hens will ,various colors, wlll I get any barred hens?
They also tend towards gluttony. They like to EAT!Orpingtons lay about 175 to 200[7]:158 medium to large[4]:115 light-brown eggs a year.
It was said that at one time Orpingtons were capable of laying as many as 340[4]:115 eggs per year. This decline in production was due to breeders selecting for looks over utility
IF this is true they wouldn't be cost efficient for me.
Doctor's request!I found a hyperbaric (sp) chamber in Lawenceburg hospital. Wondering how we can get to that.
Oh my goodness. Poor dear. Twins would be better than one huge calf.Pretty worried about my herd share cow. She is due the end of the month.
You don't know that until you find out what's wrong. Could be a tendon out of place or something. There isnt any thing they can do about it.
I was wondering that as well. We can go hunt her down!So Val isnt coming back ? Has anyone spoke w/ her ?
Even if the female is a buff Orph.?It depends on if your rooster has one or two barred genes. Barring gene is dominant and sex linked. Supposedly. So much of genetics is not straight forward. There are probably exceptions.Even if the female is a buff Orph.?
