Well, Twist caught up.. almost. Guess he had to go...

Hi, Twist.

I went out a little bit ago to gather eggs. One of the Things (Dom pullets, Things 1-5) was in a nest, pondering and looking thoughtful. I hung around for a while in hopes she would lay her egg and move on, but .... she was there for the long haul. But as I watched her, she hunkered down, began to talk to herself a little, and then... started picking up bits of the nesting material, shredded paper, and putting it over her shoulder onto her back! Like ... she was in a spa, and covering herself like a mud bath. Just oh so gently, and kind of purring the whole time.

You guys ever seen this? What gives? I left at that point. Didn't want to interrupt a lady having a paper bubble bath, lol.

Most of my birds do this, even the ones that aren't broody. Muffin (one of my EEs) loves just sitting in the nesting box even after she has laid an egg. I find that almost all of my birds put hay on their backs.

I didn't post goat pictures here yet! They are here already! I can't believe I "own" a goat!

Hoping to show them this year.

Black buckskin is Chestnut and the other is Nutmeg. Trying to get them used to Kiki as well.

OMG spent over an hour dealing with workerscomp and the state login site.

And I don't even have to do anything with the SOB's until the end of march.

I also informed MORE THEN ONE idiot at work comp that they should NOT use the word INVITE you to something if it is a state requirement to do it on line. An invite means you can if you want and I do NOT want.

@twisted-acres-farm don't you just hate it when people come up to your desk and bother you during your 'computer time'? Then you have to pretend like you were doing something REALLY serious?

We used to hide our romance novels with RN and Nurses magazines when I worked OB. Fooled the night supervisor completely.
