It can be cut like it was going to be fried only then mixed with fresh diced tomatoes and onions and that is so good. And no it is not slimy. The tomato takes away all the slime.

There is a reason those deep cast iron fry pans were made. In fact several. One is fried okra and another fried chicken.

I eat tomatoes, okra and corn. Its good.

You can add onions to that also. I don't buy the canned tomatoes, okra, and corn though. It's always fresh or from what we freeze.

If you are southern enough you will put it on top of black eyed peas that are being cooked from fresh. You can then stick a fork right behind the stem and eat the whole pod with one bite. It will go down faster than a baby oyster.

Okra is full of the fiber that helps to lower cholesterol too. It's almost carb free too.
