Sports stores like academy have lots of dehydrated "camp food" options. Are they backpacking? Dehydrated soup mixes are good and save weight. Hard cheeses can go 24 hours without refrigeration, if he could pack a bit around something else relatively cool. x2 on drink mixes. Oatmeal is also good, full of protein and body fuel. That with peanut butter powder could keep him going all day. Or grits/cream of wheat, both are light and expand when "cooked." Dried fruits and nuts.

I have a good recipe for homemade granola.

they do mold them. thats why this one hurts. It was molded for another. His insurance is the one bucking on him having it done.

Sorry granny, I meant like some you could buy, take home stick in your ear and it's moulded in one go. I was thinking with moulded ones you had to go in get a mould then they send it off to make it then you have to back to them. Was thinking it would cut a trip out for a lot of people. Me and weird thoughts though :(

Insurance sure is a pain for you :hugs

Thanks camping! It's car camping, because they will go running every day. Coach says they will cover over 400 miles in 5 days, but doesn't tell the kids that until the end. shhhhhh....

Soup and drink mixes sound good. I think it will be pretty cool there as it will be up north in the redwoods along the coast. They are going to need calories! Peanut butter is good too!

wishing, I say, Give him $50.00, drop him off at wal mart and wish him the best of luck. LOL
Your going to drive up there to check on him aint you ? Plenty of dry socks . Dont want to jinx but maybe an extra pair of shoes

Kidney.
they told my mom she wasnt a good candidate for transplant. she needed liver.

I told my hubs if I ever get killed in a crash or something, let the drs have all my bits and pieces to make someone's life better. There are like 10 or more things that can be transplanted, including parts from eyes. I won't be needing any of it where I'm going!
