Wishing, I used to love to run. I had the legs for it. won a couple things in school but I walked all the time. every second I could I was was walking . but when I ran, it felt like I was flying. I also did long jump. it was awesome. The sidewalk was my judge and jury. At a good paced run I would clear 2 sidewalk squares. I have no idea how much that was but I thought it a lot.

I loved to run in grade school. Fastest in the 6th grade except for Steve Nichlanovich, who could beat me across the playground, but not by much. After puberty hit, running got a lot harder. You don't see many competitive runners with wide hips.

Which is really ok, because I found doing laps to be so boring. I need to be doing something, like chasing a ball or beating someone down the court. But distances, no go. Basketball coach would sent us out for laps... Everybody could run the laps, but I ended up walking. Coach never minded because I was always the first one down the court during a game. Always.
