Yes, some people use jars/bottles. I like the rocks. It takes forever to warm up, but then it holds temp well and recovers quickly when I open it. I put the jars in there for humidity, because chicks can't fall in.
 
Dont encourage me. I knew I would get the itch right about now. Thats why my bator is pushed in a corner with heavy stuff on top. LOL

That's for heat, then. The rocks leave more room for eggs. :D
