Been looking at fruit trees online. Told dh we re going to plant pomegranate trees this winter. Finally ate 2 figs. Got them before whatever animal that s been raiding the bushes. Waiting for oriental pears to ripen.

I have been tree shopping a bit myself - there is a large part of the yard here that is currently a blank slate and the landlords have given us free reign when it comes to landscaping, decorating, etc ..... they just took out several large trees due to them being in poor condition so what used to be a very nicely shaded lot is lacking in several places, and I am anxious to get some trees going again soon (better planned this time as the issue before was they were planted right on the property line and caused issues there and this lovely HUGE redwood out front was starting to threaten the water lines and foundation. The poor lot is just a mess, the grass was left unattended all summer and is completely dead and there are large bare spots where all the trees were taken out --- can't wait to get it all back into shape, just have to decide what shape that is going to take, lol.

Wishing, i wS reading about skunks. They will occupy your crawlspace. Article said put castor oil or capsaicin out to repell them.

Thanks jane. Dogs keep them out of the yard pretty good, but repellent is a good idea, especially if it keeps them from getting perfumed.

Crawlspace is all secure, because if skunks weren't in there, possums, raccoons, grey fox, rats, or cats would be!

You and DD need to set up a mandatory monthly shopping trip, so she can contribute fairly. Seems like they owe you a few tanks of gas too. Glad she got the paperwork done and good that business is up for them. Hope it stays that way.

guess what I bought ? Nope, wrong. LOL I bought a chair for the kitchen. $10.00 on wheels raises up plenty high to reach the stove dont know if I should laugh or cry. CB bought 2 chickens. baby something and mixed bantam silver seabright
Stopped at a yard sale and bought a palawana (sp) tree. pretty excited bout that ! about a ft. tall for $5.00 .

Congratulations on your cooking chair.

Bright side... now you can teach CB how to cook!

Plant the tree. If they are hard to start, maybe not so invasive on your area. Besides, you can mow down any saplings you don't want.

Congrats on the chickens, CB. Glad you got that young one so you can help it get healthy. It will be a lot cuter when the feathers grow back.
