I get another gold star for self control --- on our adventure DS and I discovered there is a location of one of my most favorite farm store in the town we ventured to so I just *had* to go in. They had chicks....bins and bins of chicks......chicks of all the breeds I want......beautiful, fuzzy, chicks......*and* they were 50% off...............![]()
Are you getting settled Mare? How is your boy liking the new school ?
Its been so hot here this year there is nothing left in garden but okra. Some years i have picked tomatoes til frost. Wrapped them (green ones) in paper & stored in a bucket. Taken a few out to ripen every week & had tomatoes through janurary.
I think we are getting settled, yes, this place (the town, not the house - the house hasn't been an issue from day one, lol) is starting to really feel like "home" now. Things are working out beautifully so far as far as the proximity to the in-laws and I really thing MIL and I are in a good place in building/re-building our relationship so that has been a very welcome development. I just wish we weren't quite so far from my family, it's *only* 2 1/2 hours (2 with really good traffic and me driving, lol) -- but as long as I can make a trip once or twice a month or they get a chance to come up here I can't complain too much.
The boy - I think he's doing okay with school. Didn't manage to drag too much conversation out of him today on our big adventure but what I do get from him seems to be positive so we'll just keep an eye on that and go from there. He's really looking forward to tomorrow when FIL comes for dinner so they can talk about the building project he has in mind so they can get solid plans for getting it started and that warms my heart a lot because he hasn't had a chance to have a relationship with any of his grandparents before this due to the distance.
Yes ma'am. I was going to do a picket fence, but we couldn't get the pallets apart. The saws-all blades were all warped, and we couldn't find more. It was taking forever to bust them apart. So we improvised. She loved it. Cried and cried. She barely made it back to camp, because she was so emotional and upset. She's leaving again tomorrow til Tuesday. Then we'll see what happens. Is this the persons house you bought the roses for ? I like that fence.
