I dont know how people sell eating eggs for $1.50 -2.00 it cost way more to feed them. cartons sell here for .50-,75 cent. I fed everyone i had back to the chickens yesterday . about 8 dozen. today GS tells me his teacher wants 4 dozen @ $3.00. LOL them girls better get busy
No clue. I'd give the eggs away or feed back before I'd sell that cheap! Cheapest I found cartons was $.50. Feed is $3. per chicken per mo. In So Cal, plain store eggs are $5/dz. Certified organic go for $6.-$7 at the farmers market (to sell you have to get all kinds of licences and certifications) We sell under the radar, but way too many neighbors sell for 3 bucks a dz.

I don't get that my eggs are fresher and healthier but my neighborhood farmers undersell the stores?

camping, kids are cute and so are the new Tevas.  I can't have anything between my toes when I walk. :/   Limits the cute stuff.

Thanks! :love The little one was leading us with his map. Precious.

This is my first pair! I don't mind stuff between my toes but I have degeneration in the bones of my feet. So these will have limited use, which means they'll last forever!! :weee

Love blue eyed dogs !
I dont know what post you are talking about mutt ? I read them all today but not remembering all. LOL

I am looking for a realistic vet. I don't think my current one is only out for money or cheating, but his idea of what's reasonable doesn't match mine. Dog had a tooth cleaning, and he told me she had a dead tooth. I expected he had yanked it and there would be a charge. Nooooo. Oh, we don't pull them anymore. You need to schedule a root canal. I laughed (maybe slightly hysterically) and said that the dog could get in line behind hub's new crown, and 2 mouthfuls of braces. 3 years later, the dog is fine, dead tooth is fine, hubs needs another crown and boy#1 is getting his braces off this month! Same dog ruptured her ACL. Apparently my only option was a $4000 reconstructive surgery where the top of the femur would be cut off and turned around. My hubs has a complete PCL rupture and rehabbed without surgery. I asked about rehabbing without surgery. Vet just shrugged. I did online research and that surgery on a dog has pretty high failure rate. We rehabbed at home. She was back running in less than a year.
You SO nailed it Wishing. What treatment protocol is reasonable for the typical pet owner?

Do they think you're made of money? Is it a teaching hospital?

The old vet (dead now) used a kind of high pressure hose to clean teeth. Worked really good too. Sometimes you'd get one that had really bad loose teeth. When he cleaned them, the cruddy ones just washed right out. He charged for extractions when that happened.
We used a cavatron scraper with water, just like human dentists. Vet would pull anything dead or really loose for a few extra bucks back in the day.

Star was a puppy I bred and raised. She was born on Thanksgiving night in a rainstorm. I had been in a wreck earlier in the day. I was in VA in the wreck. My mother threw a fit when my dog-loving sister drove me home to WV.

We brought the Moma dog and the puppies in the house and dried them all off and warmed them up. Two puppies died, but the rest of the puppies were fine after they ate. I kept them in the house in an X-pen. From when she was old enough to notice people, she could be seen sitting in the pen watching me or the kids. Her registered name was Dixieland Delight, but we called her Star.

She got hit by a car. We too her to an emergency clinic, they stabilized her. I took her to a vet te next morning. This was a Saturday. I called the vet to see how he was later that afternoon. She had not been operated on yet. I called back and was told the vet never showed up. I had to pay $300 up front when I dropped her off. The vet did not show up all day. Sunday I couldn't get in to get her since no one was there. Monday morning I show up and tell them I want to see her before surgery, they took me to the kennel....... I took her out of the cage and proceeded out of the kennel, they tried to stop me. I can get ugly if I am mad enough. They backed off but told me they were caling the ASPCA to report me for refusing surgery. I told them go ahead, I would need their investigation for proof to have his Veterinarian license yanked.

Her leg had gangrene when I got her to the next vet, who performed surgery and took the leg off up to her hip.

I waited a week, then my boyfriend called the vet's office and suggested that they return my money before we called a lawyer. The money was in my mailbox in 3 days.
terrible about star. Shed probably have all four of her leg if it weren't for the vet.

my cat, Binks got it by a coyote on the weekend. he was so bad I was asking about having him put down. couple vets I called said they wanted $500.00 to do it ! I about had a cow. the one i took him to decided we could save him ALL the skin was gone off his side and canine marks were in his ribs.
