I am currently fermenting wheat for mine. My dh thought he would save some on feed when I sent him to buy feed. So instead of 2 bags of feed he got 1 and 50 lbs of wheat. My free rangiing ones barely touch it. I may ferment chick starter for my babies. I am using large plastic mayonnaise containers w/lid. No bucket involved.

i ferment mine too jane..they love it and you do save on feed..i just cut the top of a gallon jug..give them what they will eat and add more feed..
