Love your approach to dealing with it - I have the same aversion to shopping at the Evil Empire (what we call WM), I really resent being treated like a suspected thief -- besides, just pulling into the parking lot makes you feel like your blood pressure is rising and your IQ is dropping (can you tell I'm not fan of WM).
Tell us how you really feel about wm mare?

Here's the super technical information on what qualifies as a "paint" as far as being registration eligible
http://www.apha.com/breed/colorreq
There are "breeding stock" paints (solid horses but the offspring of qualified, registered parentage) - and there are also paints who's markings are not visible in a natural, standing position.
Beat me to it. I had a paint halter gelding. Handsome buggar. Minimal white, qualified by his face only. Took 6th at the world show for yearling geldings. Ditto on short horses now. My 28 yo QH mare is 15.2, 17yo QH gelding is 14.2. So much easier to on and off.

So a little boy walks up to his mother who is doing dishes and asks " mommy why are wedding dresses white" mommy say's go ask you father. Little boy goes into livingroom where dad is watching Tv and asks dad same question Father responds "because son all kitchen appliances come in white. "
