We went to Mike's apartment building Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. The food was not as good as one would have hoped, but i got to meet all of the neighbors he talks about. I am not doing anything for thanksgiving since i have to work and then work on black friday...... You guys be sure to enjoy all of the good food and family fellowship!

enola, i am sure your dinner was as good as mine will be. probably better because you were able to share with others. the nest-spresso is on my list for sure ! hahahaa I have been compared to lucy before. there is a BIG difference , I dont have red hair today. Have to say, my favorite was the Benny Hill music Twist suggested. sounds about right. Wishing, what is the movie icon? is it that side ways V ? mrsc, wouldnt worry about no dust bunnys, anyone else for that matter. no one looks up when their eating. the better the food the father your nose will be buried in it. my husbands birthday is black friday. for some reason this amuses him ? I dont want to ask. its hard to get him to crack a smile.

You're probably right about no one seeing the dust with all the food. In fact, everyone coming here, with the exception of my sister, is older than I am and none have the best eyesight! I always feel sad for boy boys celebrating the holidays with a bunch of old fogeys.

So, about posting a YouTube video... If you're on a computer (not sure how it works for people using a phone) look at all those little button thingies that are at the top of the reply box when you are typing your post. The rectangular one, supposed to look like a film strip, is the one you want. It is to the left of the smiley face, 4 spaces over. I started playing around with all the buttons and found a whole bunch of cool stuff, like the back arrow, which is great when I press the wrong key and wipe out all my work. If you don't have all those buttons, we can find you some BYC tech help. I'm at my limit, being as technologically disinclined as I am.

my only ee that has been in question about when she will lay and what color. I found her today, sitting. she has decided she will go broody.

I am still waiting on a colored egg. she was sitting on 2 dark brown eggs. her comb turned very red. oh well, an egg is an egg right ? I have 4 sisters left. one deceased. all 4 contacted me today. 2 are fighting with each other, one is mad at me for a post i made. the last one, well, i dont know what she was looking for, gossip about the others i guess. I am assuming they all wanted to dump on me because mom is not here. so I told them what i thought she would say. Call me back when you actually want to know how i am doing. Happy holidays to them too.

Granny, Ensure might have a bit too much milk in it, and could cause diarrhea, but someone may correct me on this.  It is mostly sugar, proteins and vitamins. But I suppose it will do if you don't have any other poultry vitamins. Weak chicks do well on vitamins and sugar in the water. I would get this little one in his own brooder and under more heat. 98 to 100 degrees. Weak babies need more heat than healthy ones. Make sure he at least drinks. Offer him up hard boiled eggs as well. Great emergency food for babies. Weak or sick babies don't eat their regular food much, so egg is a great food to get them going.

If the chick fell in the water, you might want to dry him off so he doesn't chill. 

You just HAD to go and do it! 

Yes, chooks can't digest milk. Gives them tummy ache and diarrhea. No lasting damage though.

thats nice mrsc, no family here. just a couple picky people.  yes, every one had good ideas for the baby. wish suzierd would come talk. she felt bad and she has NO reason to. the yolk was the only thing the little one actually wanted to eat. it was myself shoving it with a syringe if anything. but remember me saying it sounded a little congested and i wanted to give it the denaguard? it probably had fluid in the lung the whole time from pipping wrong.  I just realized i am not going to have Christmas money. LOL i either do dinner or a cheap gift. maybe they will learn what christmas is supposed to be.  

Good Morning Granny! Thanks for the kind words I do feel bad I wanted the little buggar to make it so bad I not only get attached to my own chickens but everyone else's too! And I wanted it for you, you tried so hard for the little guy.
Im going to my sisters this year for thanksgiving going to Costco today to pick up a ham anyone now what the best one to get would be? I wanted one of those honey baked hams I love the honey crust on the outside yum! But they are closed down where I was going to get it so going to try Costco.

Kentuckys best and cumberland gap is what i go for in hams. I like them but i guess it depends where you live. LOL Dr. this morning.says it looks good, i can soak in a hot bath now and I can rid myself of the boot in 10 days. start doing small stretches with my foot and i have 6 more months til i will be completely healed. he demonstrated the exercise for me and it is just lifting my toes in the air.

Every one busy cooking ? LOL I love my microwave. watch it crap on me tomorrow. got the ol man to make a couple chocolate dream pies. my favorite is fruit salad. probably be a long time before i have that again. it makes a ton, I dont know how to cut it down and again, no one else here will eat it.

its also very expensive to make. thats one thing i could eat for a few days. mmm... fresh grapes and apples peeled for me and cut small, can of fruit cocktail drained well, can of pineapple, drained, small can of mandrine oranges drained, bananas, tub of coolwhip and Whipped cream cheese, mixed together. add all the fruit except oranges ( decoration) some add walnuts, some add coconut. i dont add either. some dont add bananas because they turn color fast. guess you could add as you eat. sound good? how many make this? i put the baby silkies outside today and cleaned the cage good in here (just in case) . i will candle tonight and if its still alive will change it to the other bator. I think i have it at 100 degrees, i have forgotten and humidity is 67 . is that too much ? it was put in on the 9th so its day 17 or 18 depending on who you ask. lol i dont remember if it went in the morning or afternoon. well, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. gobble gobble
