Wonder if the rain taste salty ? LOL It has poured here the whole blessed day ! I think we are supposed to end up with 2 1/2 in. cant imagine 10. I am a bit happy I live on a hill. . I cant drag lily or frosty outside . star doesnt care.

A lot of people soak it and if cooked right it's delicious. I also forgot to tell you before I vacuum seal the bags for the freezer, I debone mine and give it another good was making sure that there's no silver skin that I need to cut off and no hair at all left on it. I don't soak mine in salt. I do tenderize it with the mallet and meat tenderizer. Then salt, pepper or what ever else you like to use. Then I work some italian dressing into it real good and put it in the fridge for two days before grilling. It make great steak with no gristle between your teeth. Bi fat to chew on. Great now I want deer steak and need to take one soon. Hope I feel better in the morning and it's not raining. If that happens I will be cleaning a deer by eleven o'clock tomorrow morning.
Roost. I need some deer meat! When I was in Mi, pound your meat (no jokes boys) inject it with Italian dressing, pour the rest on top, wrap it in bacon and cook it like a pot roast with new potatoes and carrots and pearl onions!

LOL - yes, the one advantage to rain is when it comes to the dogs. Ours will go out, but very begrudgingly and sometimes you have to order them off the porch a second time to get them out to the grass to do what they are there to do -- on the upside I can take even Jethro off leash and have zero concern about him deciding to be a jerk (he's a bolter when he sees anyone/anything he thinks he needs to defend his home from). Normally unless we are going out for play time I have to keep him leashed and/or I take them one at a time since both boys can make life miserable if you don't - on rainy days/nights I just open the door and send all three out -- they are on the grass, do their thing and back at the door in no time.
