I hope that Red left that poor broody alone but wouldn't bet a dust bunny on it.
It's got hardware cloth in it.
I told her to get a thermometer and put her lamp above the brooder, make sure they have a cool place to hide if needed, etc. The others were talking her to leave the chicks in the bator for three days. and then using the power of the multitude to shut me out when I disagreed. Ugh. Bunch of dummies.
I hatched 100s of chicks this year and never lost any til I moved them to the outside brooder, and I think that was because the possum literally scared them to death. I would find one crushed every few days, I assume as they all tried to get away. They didn't know they were safe.

im back .. I am not understanding camping. you think they got too cold or too hot ? If it was a fridge lightbulb they dont throw much heat . did she show the bulb ? wondering if its one of the new led bulbs. could of been a million thing . the shavings could be ceder.
There is no cure for CRD . they can get better, sick again. Im not 100% they get bubbles with pox. might of had a couple things going on what about Kathys new post ??

Just think you guys , If the Indians had gave the pilgrims a donkey instead of a turkey we would all be having a piece of @ss for thanksgiving .
I don't know if she go hopped or not. Or she could be a tease like most grannies.
I would need a bigger oven and roasting pan.
