my husband has woke up sneezing this morning. I hope he dont get the strep. he is, hands down, the biggest baby in the house. Enola, Please tell Mike we are now aware that he is Not, in fact full of it after all. Wish i could say the same.

Yep, that is our private inside joke now...... I have been here all day and night since Wednesday. I have to check EVERYTHING they do. The Dr described his treatment plan, then wrote down something else on his orders. Some of Mike's medications got left out. Dosage levels were wrong on others. They kept pumping his stomach even after his bowels started moving. They are going to discharge him today and they wanted to give him a suppository before he leaves with a one hour drive home...... I foresee a disaster with that plan. One nurse told me she didn't like my attitude this morning.

I told her that was better than I could say for her. I told her I didn't like her at all. Then the next thing I know they put him in the shower without his oxygen!!!! When he ran out of breath and asked for his oxygen tube, she continues piddling around on that dam computer and says "just a second Honey" i came off the couch half naked, grabbed his oxygen tank and took it to him. I came out of the bathroom announced I would ginish his shower..... And told her she better be GONE when we came out!!!!

When we came out the nursing director was waiting, she told me I couldn't talk to her nurses like that. I pointed to his chart on the counter. In HUGE letters right across the top OXYGEN 24/7. Told her if she had anything else to say it would be said in the Hospital Administrator's Office.

Enola, Glad to hear your husband is being discharged today. I can understand you frustration with the hospital staff. I'm a nurse and hate to hear about other nurses ignoring patient's needs. Seems like now, the only thing that matters is the paperwork and documentation.... used to not be like that. I've often said if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't go into nursing. I like to take care of my patients like they deserve to be, but now there are too many q's and p's that have be crossed. There is never an excuse for a patient to be ignored and crappy attitudes from the staff.

You go girlfriend !! sometimes you run across them . I have seen a woman and not lightweight SIT on my husband to shave his face. left him very raw. he was crying and i was on the hunt. that is why we lose good nurses because of hospital rules . they bad ones are allowed to get by with it. had some chase me down but i was faster !!! lol

They have not thrown us out yet.......

Aww sorry to hear that your having difficulties with some staff. It seems like every time one has to stay in a hospital it's very common to get 1 or 2 that a great, but it never fails there's always that 1 bad one you would like to strangle. That's been my experience at least.
