We got to the bottom of the problem: the dr is telling us one course of action and when writing his orders for the nurses, the directions change! I guess he didn't think anybody would double check on what was going on.Enola, Glad to hear your husband is being discharged today. I can understand you frustration with the hospital staff. I'm a nurse and hate to hear about other nurses ignoring patient's needs. Seems like now, the only thing that matters is the paperwork and documentation.... used to not be like that. I've often said if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't go into nursing. I like to take care of my patients like they deserve to be, but now there are too many q's and p's that have be crossed. There is never an excuse for a patient to be ignored and crappy attitudes from the staff.
