aww, that sounds so sweet. pure romance . what was it like growing up with a minister dad? did he expect a lot? I grew up with a drunk . he didnt expect anything. lol

In a word: rigid. Very high expectations of behavior, especially in church. And lonely. If someone got married, died, got sick, had an affair, lost their job, went to court, or whatever else you call a preacher for, then my dad and mom both went. So we (little brother and I) were pretty self-sufficient. I didn't grow up eating dinner at the table or getting tucked in because no one was ever home.

But, all in all, it was probably a life just like most everyone else's. Pretty average. :)
 
dont look like i will get my eggs in time . today is day 10 of being laid for some of them. still in MT. Enola, are you still planning on moving ? wonder what shipping would be for one of your hens? do you have them promised yet? I am sorry campingshaw if i got too nosy. It just fascinates me that people actually have a father growing up.

Sorry about no eggs yet there granny. The guys brought in eggs yesterday ended up with 4 doz lg 1 doz jumbo's and 2- 18 count med and smaller. Down to the 2 18 packs already. Gonna have to start running the hens thru and old washer wringer to squeeze out more eggs.


MOTEL DRAMA FOR THE DAY
So have a guest staying here who bought a dirt bike (motorized type) from another quest who was passing thru, He then tried to sell it to my nephew without a title. Told nephew to get the vin number and check it out at the DMV to make sure its on the up and up. NOPE bike reported stolen in California. Before he could even get back to the motel cops were here to take the bike. Told my nephew it was a good thing he checked it out other wise he would be out the money.
 
stolen dirt bike ! wow, all kinds of nice people around you. thats a ton of eggs I got 8 the other day and thought i was rich. I dont think i even have 8 layers out there. I just finished cleaning my lamp. stuff was running off brown like tobacco . it came out nice. I still liked the old (new) one better but this is what i have. searched for hrs. yesterday and today for one like it and its not to be found but similar ones in size are going for a couple grand. hahaa if i could, i would sell it and buy another like the dog broke. hahaa And go shopping again. I wanted to oil it to make it shine better but i caught myself thinking that would just make it slide off the table better .

The damage to the blind in the back ground was done by my cat. She was trying to get to the window to beat up on a neighborhood cat.

It's been an interesting day today - came to work prepared to interview for a new position. This came about just two days ago when, out of the blue, I was approached and asked if I would consider the job (HR Director). Anyway - went through a whirlwind of second thoughts and stress, the moment arrives and...............I didn't get the job. As funny as it sounds, I have never been so relieved to NOT get a job.
However, in the process of explaining why they had decided I probably was not a good candidate (um, pretty sure I said as much when approached about the whole deal, lol, which is why I have been so doubtful and stressed) they offered me an entirely different job. I just accepted an offer to be the new Assistant Chief Financial Officer

Enola, NICE !!!!! how old you think it would be? I am going to have another one to look up. lol Ol mare, congratulations ! sounds very important . as i dont know what it is but i am very impressed. I never did get a phone call back . lol I am very proud of you

went out to tend the chickens and there were some wild birds in there. never seen that before. I went in to shoe them and couldnt. my husband followed me for some reason. I tripped over the feeder and he caught me ! I would of cracked my head open if he hadnt of been there. as it is, I hurt my surgery foot and my back. birds must of squeezed in then ate so much they couldnt get back out? chicken wire and cardinals. caught them bare handed though. lol
