amish here looked at me like I was nuts when I found out they milk their goats and toss it. I asked they why are they not drinking it ? they never heard of such a thing. LOL told them they would be much better off feeding that to the babies when they couldnt breast feed then cows milk. I dont think they believed me .

It's a great base for replacement milk for many orphaned animals too - far better than cows milk.

Speaking of doggy idiocy - came across an ad this morning on one of the local B/S/T pages for a 13 week old GSD (keep that in mind, 13 weeks) that is being re-homed because it is "untrainable". I told DH if we hadn't agreed we are in downsizing mode in preparation for being able to move that pup would be in our living room by this evening. I mean, come on, optimally you would have had the pup for no more than 5 weeks (assuming you were decent enough not to take it from it's litter before 8 weeks - which, around here, is highly unlikely) - but lets say you've had it for 7 weeks ---- first of all, if that is the case, removing the dog from it's litter too early set you back on a lot of things as you robbed it of important social skills training that occur even after the pup is not reliant on mother's milk - secondly, at 13 weeks the puppy is not untrainable, it's a 13 week old puppy who is still in need of training - third, you say in your ad "I've tried everything", which tells me that in a short period of time you have used multiple training approaches (and I would suppose at least some of them are rather negative based on the tone of the post), and that means the puppy has had no consistency and is totally confused at this point, which is why it is not responding to your "training"....................

I just feel so bad for the poor pup -- hope someone is able to go get her and raise her up right.....

We had the same thing awhile back. A beagle puppy rehomed because it growled at its kids. The mom was losing her mind and absolutely refused to give the pup to a home with kids. She kept saying it was aggressive and all sorts of nonsense. I followed it for awhile, and I'm pretty sure it ended up with someone who had a brain.

That drives me nuts. This is why there are so many abandoned good dogs.

Sounds to me like the idiot with the puppy is unattainable.
