Giants are the best, so sweet. As for craigslist, some rabbits are sold with diseases. I would reccomend a rescue for this reason. But it is up to you.

Ahh, she's cute! We got Chicory and Sherm (a year later) through 4H connections from a woman who had way too many rabbits, like animal hoarding levels of rabbits, and I felt like we rescued both buns from her! Sherman had been stepped on as a baby, his ribs were all caved in on one side, and she had never even noticed. Probably when mama was kicking the raccoon's butt. He also had ear mites, which she didn't know about either! Too many for one person to care for!

Good breeders will advertise on cl since they are considered farm/agricultural animals rather than pets, and can get around the "no pet sales" rule. We aren't in a hurry, but I'm thinking about a grey (chinchilla colored) one next. Or sandy. Or both!

SOme people o that to rabbits, but your plan sounds good, chinchillas are pretty!

I used to when I was a little . My father had a friend die from rabbit fever and he said If i got DS one he would shot it. I had never seen him like that before. he made me promise and I did.
