Last night I saw two possums total. The small one that I've shot at once wandered through, but any time I shine a light it takes off running. I put out some eggs as bait, but they ate them during one of my sleep breaks. I've got the rifle in my bathroom now, next to the window, and going to set out more eggs tonight so I can get a good, clear shot.

Ming, if i had to choose 6-8 chickens i guess i would end up in a mental inst. LOL thats why i am over run with 76 ..

Lol! I don't have the space for much more than that but there are so many great breeds so I am torn! What do you do with all the eggs from 76 hens?!!?

they are not all hens. I have some good luck holding roosters together too. probably have about 10-15 roos in my 2 coops. My egg production sucks rotten eggs. lol right now i am getting about 7 a day. lots of babies and pol chicks . I still have too many though. Right now with dd and family we are sort of keeping them under control but excess go back to the animals. barn cats mostly.

sounds to me like you are having fun. hahaa you must have quite a few. maybe 3-4 traps ?

wanted to clean and freeze a rooster today. all i have is foil. any ideas ? freezing is supposed to make them more tender. and something about salt ?

Wasted four bullets yesterday. No possums. Going today for the trap.

My sussex broody is off her nest, scratching and clucking at the chicks and showing them food and water. The marans broody is sitting on four dud eggs. Not sure what to do with her. Try to break her I guess? Husband doesn't want to give her chicks, but would he really notice 2-3 more?

granny foil should be ok just cover it good ..more than one layer of foil ..i don't know about the salt

thanks danna, i am too tired to do it now. lol maybe tomorrow. I took the serama chicks out of the house today and the crippled one. I put them in with the bantams. they look so tiny next to them. I am thinking i have stunted their growth . pretty funny thinking its a stunted serama . hen and rooster. I got the cage as far as the back porch with help from dh . I am going to drag it the rest of the way i guess. I am so weak now. embarrassing really. these guys are supposed to be moving tomorrow . not sure if thats what is happening or not. land lord is supposed to call today and as far as i know he hasnt called yet. There is so much work facing me getting the house back together. If i ever do. the carpets are very nasty. stains every where. I am feeling down again today. not sleepy, took care of that last night and most of yesterday afternoon. Tried to plant a flower by the pond today. I did it but it hurt. I just bent over and used my hand shovel. not the best in clay.
