No fancy schmancy auto shut off for me!! When it dies, guess I will have to get one of those ecoglow brooders. IF i have any more chicks. Still considering trying quail, since there seems to be a market for them.

Here's how I had it set up for 2 Orps that I got 2 springs ago. I built a wire frame and draped the pad over it. Paper towels underneath and a little blankie on top.

The Orps loved their mommie, and spent a lot of time on top. Both of them were boys, of course.

They outgrew it pretty quickly, but the Seramas are so tiny, they can use it for a long time. I will try to get pics to show you later.

wishing, do you have a pic. of that blue chick grown up ?

Not very good ones. I sold them to the feed store a couple of weeks after these pics. Lavender boy sold first day. Blue the next day.

Was hoping for a pullet, but the dark started coming in on the wings and the wattles sprouted.

He was just later than the lavender.

:weee      Congratulations!  How soon do you get them fixed?  Intact male goats are pretty stinky!  :)

opinions vary.........best way to tell, is to make sure both testicles have dropped.......easy to find and tell.

Would I see them? The lady held them under the front legs when we loaded them, that's when we saw they were bucks. But I didn't see anything else.

They have inch-long bottom teeth.
