Wishing, I called that one first . hahahaa
No way, man! I miss my Silkie, but not enough to do anything about it.

Still haven't checked on the eggs under Bunny. Also need to check on #6 again. I put a heater in their room, so it's not so cold when the go to eat.

LOL I think I can get there first . Ready, set, ........... Did the link suggest antibiotic on the navel ?

One of my hona chicks is acting lame. It has one leg tucked up under it. I've put it in a cat crate on top of the brooder so it can still have heat. I check them several times a day, so it hadn't been more than 24 hours if that long. Hoping it's just an injury somehow.

General questions about chicks after hatching (remember, I have no incubator experience):

Is it normal for a new chick to take awhile to get up and walk around?  After they dry, of course, but are they a little slow for the first 24 hours?  #6 had a little bit of leftover stuff in the shell, pea sized, maybe a bit of yolk.  I brought #6 in last night with the others, and it doesn't stand up all the way yet.  The others I brought in had been under mama for over 24 hrs, so not sure how long it takes them to get going, or if #6 needs extra care.
He/she might just need a little extra time or it might need a little boost. Sally steered you in the right direction. Maybe you will get lucky & it is just being timid because it was introduced into the fold as a single chick. Good luck with it wishing, they are all so darn cute :hugs

Check that link from Sally on the previous page. Excellent for any leg problems.

Maybe!
