you have to look close at the feather shafts Louly....  I cant tell with the images, but I think I see little dark gray spots of something?

I thought the dots were scars from missing pen feathers.. oy vay. but I am new to this. She is still laying and is the only one with this problem... better work fast I suppose.

Linda, do you have a rooster? It looks like it could be overbreeding.  Dominant hens will do IT too.  Looks like she is being picked on.  Get her a jacket.

When you treat for mite/lice, you need to treat the whole flock and the coop.  I've had northern fowl mites here and red roost mites.  Both were easy to see when you look and no chicken ever had feather loss like yours, even with a pretty bad infestation.  If it's not a rooster, somebody is pulling her feathers.

X2. I had white chickens with lice but it was super obvious.

Thanks for coming Kathy !!
some eggs I cant see through. the green ones mostly. pulled 8 eggs. All 4 seramas and 4 ? leaving a total of 45 eggs looking good. Air cell more on track then last time and lots of veins. @Sally Sunshine One wonky air cell . I havent been turning them in the turner but I did tonight and switched them around some. Temp dropped to 88 and still trying to recoup 5 min. so far.

nothing to be sad about sweetie! this crap happens with fowl, I do ivermectin and safeguard every six months, and I also add garden lime under shavings inthe coop and preth dust on top of the shavings, I hate bugs, never had them. my friend did and they are nasty to get rid of once you have the boogers!! So I went right on a preventative plan. Dont care what anyone says, I dont want them or deal with them, peace of mind for me. Plus I need to draw labs and swabs on the flock for npip anyways, so while in hand its worth doing it and giving them their health check ups. Kat has great links for how to give them a check up somewheres. or else I had an article I posted, should be in the links. Its not a big deal just a pain in the azz if you have them. how does her comb and wattles look? are they pale? look in her mouth and throat too?
