Hi everybody! Not much interesting happening here. Still broody city, but NO CHICKS! We have enough animals. Have to take will power pills (I wish there were some) before I go to the feed store. Last time it was adorable LF cochin chicks. Disgustingly cute and older son was pleading for 2 and making whimpering noises.
gah! It's like drugs. Just say NO!
Granny, sorry about your diagnosis. That doesn't sound like fun.
I wish we had $1 a pound tomatoes. $3 is cheap around here for heirloom or ripe garden tomatoes. If I could get them for a dollar a pound, I wouldn't even bother with trying to grow them! My tomato plants are trying to produce, but some of them don't look too happy. I need more compost. Most mornings are foggy here, so they don't get enough sun. Green beans and squash are producing and cucumbers on the way. Just picked all the apricots, but we had a couple of 100° days the week before and lots of them got stewed and mushy. But the good ones... de-lish! I ate too many! Need to make some jam or a crumble. (Yeah right.
)
Little dog, Scooter, has fleas
which is unusual. Frontline doesn't work anymore, so we had to go to the vet to get new prescription pills for fleas and ticks. Mucho $$$$ but I can't have Belle getting fleas with her skin problem or it will be double-triple mucho $$$$ to get her fixed up! Always something.
Here's a few tomatoes from the Heirloom Expo a few yrs ago. Supposed to be a volcano and lava.
You're up late granny! I like driving at night if there's no traffic and I'm familiar with the area and it's not foggy or raining or, heaven forbid, snowing. So I guess mostly I don't like driving at night either.
Let's take a drive down Memory Lane!
Here's when my first chicks were growing up. Not enough room for all 10 to perch.
the lights blind me as well. I think every fool out there last night had their brights on.. Not tons of traffic though. My dh had cataracts removed as well and the surgery to help him see better. he says his vision is worse then ever. Sunshine yesterday and i got excited thinking the wet spell is over and i would try to mow today. It stormed all night.
