DH gripes a lot, but ultimately I make the rules. ;) Everytime I ask if we should buy or sell, or build, or change breeds, he always says "THIS IS YOUR THING, BABY." So I interpret that as permission to do whatever I want! :D :D :D :D :D

This morning he wanted eggs, but I didn't have any he could eat. That's what happens when of the 60+ chickens only five are laying, and only two of those lay "eating" eggs.

So, clearly I need more!! :weee:

Lol. He's just putting his foot down cause I've been putting my foot down in his automobile addiction lately. He was looking on Craigslist at cars. "No! No we don't need that, no we don't need that, no you do not need another race car finish the one you got...WHY WERE YOU LOOKING AT A BRAND NEW DUALLY OURS DOES JUST FINE"

Ugh. Gonna need some chicken therapy today, I can tell. Got a text a few minutes ago that a staff person and mother are coming out to speak to us. My nerves are all in a tizzy over it. I don't handle confrontation well enough in general, but I'm so sick of working with overpriviledged and underworked brats that I don't think I'll be able to keep my cool.

They are bringing their mom to meet with their employer? Is this staff person a young teen? Even if the person is a young teen, unless the issue is abuse of the employee I can't imagine thinking that involving a parent (or a parent thinking to involve themselves) would be a good idea......... good luck!

I'm sure the staff person considered it abuse. It was a standard case of "can't take what she dishes" and her feelings were hurt. Apparently she's called her mom crying every night for a month. She's a recent high school grad. But the mom was very supportive of us and let us and the girl do all the talking, for the most part. It's just hard to trust her now, because I know she won't come to us if there's a problem.

Twisted, Do you have a facebook page ? friend me ... camping, dont be afraid ! Think of the very worst situation and how bad could that be ? not that bad hu ? Maybe the staffer is afraid and wants his/her mom for support . thats what it sounds like to me. Maybe someone is picking on her/him. I was thinking of gs for the seramas . I would like to have him take over. they just rented a beautiful farm. No coop. I have been really thinking about rehoming the most of my flock either to someone like him that has no chickens or for dinner except for this spring pol chicks. (point of lay) twisted. That would be about 6 hens. I have so much in these girls i hate to just give them to my neighbor ... especially since the last ones i gave him. He showed up with coffee cup in hand to "visit" me as my DH lay in bed sleeping. What he didnt know was my mother didnt raise weak girls or that my protective 6ft. son stays up most the night. Kinda felt sorry for him when he left. LOL Menfolk, just because we are nice to you and give you thinks doesnt mean we want anything. It means we are just being good-hearted.

I guess I was most afraid of running my mouth and saying regrettable things. I can be a real hot head when I'm emotional.

DH is convinced all the female staff are "cycling" together and that we're all "due." I would get mad at him, but he's not wrong. :/

Something like this happens every year this time. We've all been together for about two months and just thoroughly sick of one another. Generally after this big week coming up (high school and jr high campers) things settle down.

Today I dreamed of turning my collapsed gazebo into a better gazebo that could double as a temporary coop. Got to draw that up.
