Should I use shavings on the baby honas? One week old today. They're already super messy. Maybe shavings with the rubber shelf liner on top?

what I don't understand is why Beth inparticular would eat the kitties face first ?? To be honest it is big time gross/bizarre to find a dead cat fully intact until you get to a skeleton head

I like sand but this brooder isn't set up for it, and I don't have any. They've only been on shelf liner until I pulled it up last night and they were on wire. Maybe just the puppy pads then. I have a ton of those.
I stop them if I see it. But sometimes I don't realize it has happened until I see them (mainly Beth) running around the yard with the deceased and playing catch or tug of war with the body.
