I like sand but this brooder isn't set up for it, and I don't have any. They've only been on shelf liner until I pulled it up last night and they were on wire. Maybe just the puppy pads then. I have a ton of those.



OH  puppy pads I would think would be great   and  free since you bought them for a different purpose  the cost of the pads can't be charged against the cost of raising the chicks.   Make sure to point this out to the shark tanker   LOL

Seeing as how I haven't sold a single chick or egg, he's being surprisingly patient. I told him I think I just need to get established. It took awhile to get a foothold with the speckled sussex, too.

have you used them before ? is there something in them that when the chicks peck and eat could harm them ? Diapers have those little absorbing beads in them..


They don't have the beads. I'm not sure what's in them. But it's what I always use before they move to shavings. Usually with a layer of paper towels on top.

that dilation too. dont forget what some of us said about that. glasses can run anywhere from $80.00 and up. Color changing lenses my mom disliked . said it was a waste.
