you guys are too kind. its just my crazy days. seems like i have a few of them. i do like making people smile though. i am glad i can do that.

now, who wants to hear how much trouble i am in?? i have a barn cat(kitten) , well ok, i have 3. two males that are neutered and a female kitten. my son wanted her, he has had the money to get her fixed for a while. at first she was too young and now its too late. my mother asked me just yesterday if she might be going into season and i said noooo i dont think so. cant they see her big ol belly? maybe i can keep them hid until i am able to find homes.

well, i did it this time for sure. i went to TSC and found a silke i wanted but you have to buy 6. no buts about it. i said i have a bunch at home already you sold me. nope 6. so i picked another bantam and 4 speckled something , i have forgotten already. then i hit up orchelens . they had easter eggers, i dont.

i asked if there was a min. and she said no, you can get only one if you want, so i bought 6. sooo pleased with myself, i went flying home and did some quick rearranging , you know, moved some chicks to a bigger pen, scrubbed them out , washed water dishes, feed. an hr. later they are ready for their new home !! i took them out one by one checked their craws and butts for anything that shouldnt or should be there. and finally done ! all 11 of them are perfect. wait, WHAT ? all eleven? I have lost a chick. cant find it any where. i picked them out, watched them go in the box. so unless my TSC partner in crime is a magician and did the slight of hand trick on me its just gone. i called them up and totally blamed them for not getting the correct amount and they said come get another one. now !!! are they going to let me have just one? not their policy remember? i will make sure to ask when i do go though.

Well, you did already buy six -- you just got five, so you *should* get out of there with just the one -- unless your will is not strong enough, lol. I have been avoiding both stores because my will is not strong....thank goodness I can get all our feed needs from Andy over at Clifty Garden - he doesn't have chicks this year.

i heard peeping from the two broodys with 4 eggs so i took a look and one has hatched. i took it out to add to my new ones i just bought and it must of just hatched because the best it could do was roll to its back. i gave it back to mama. i wouldnt pull them at all except they are in the main flock. it is soo little !! dont look like either mama in there. i suspect there is a third party at work here. its coal black but no extra toe. not fluffy at all. the only black rooster i have is a frizzled silkie.

they are past due to hatch so last night and this morning i took my spray bottle outside and sprayed down the hens and the walls inside and out. back up to 12, ok 18. wait a min. what do you consider a baby? i hatched out 26? i think, about a month ago.. i dont know what is more expensive, my food bill or theirs. wonder how hard it would be to grow some field corn this year. thats about all they grow around here. wouldnt think i have to pay 10 dollars a bag for it, the crows get it for free.
