i have been putting it off for as long as i can. tomorrow, i am going to town and pick up some , ahemm, corn, or fed, or whatever excuse it takes to get me to the feed store. i have held out pretty good i think. 8 early and ??? they might just have what i always never needed. the solar lights this year are a vast improvement over what i have seen. brighter, better made and all the cute little doggies, butterflies, wind chimes, that light up. how are you supposed to resist? TSC has a 4-5ft. rooster i would love to have on the top of my coop. just so everyone knows whats in there. hahahha its made from that poly resin though and if they tip, they break. its also 100 dollars. i have a flat rubber roof. well, because thats the only kind i knew how to make, and i know it would be my piece de la resistance. or however the french say, i gotta have it.

Yeah....anything to get you into the store! And Granny, stay AWAY from the chick bins!!! I know how you are.

I have a hard time resisting all those spring time wind chimes, chicken adornments for the coop. I am always on the look out for such things. But I have been ORDERED to stay out of all feeds stores for the next 2 months because of the baby chicks I want to bring home!!

lol, you know thats what i will be looking at. just hoping they are all ugly. lol the hen the dog got, her feathers are 1/4th in. long healed except for largest wound looks a little dark. so i let her out today, watched her with the others for a while and all seemed good. her mate seemed happy to see her but not THAT happy. she has been in the cage for about a week or so?? i went in and took a nap, came out to lock them up and she is standing under the cage waiting for me to put her back in. she didnt go to bed with the others, and there was one tiny drop of blood on her back. moral of story? i need to stop taking so many naps, i am missing all the excitement.

Bring some home for me since I am forbidden to bring any home! Apparently I have ENOUGH birds!! This is a lie. A complete bold faced lie!!

I will NEVER have enough birds around here!!

Great that the hen is healing nicely. Never stop taking naps Granny...some of the best sleeps are taken with a nap.

oh two crows, i am too much like my mother to let anyone tell me anything. lol even when i know it to be true. i do have an ugly chicken though. i think its a frazzle. both ends are bare. looks like half a chicken. no mites, no problems like that with any others. it will start to grow in and then gone in a day. it is a silkie and i bet it would win ugly chicken contest. wish i could post pics. was just trying to change my avatar and i know i did it once but cant do it again. any way, it is black soft feathers that curl up with a bald head like a vulture and a bald butt. looks like a big smile back there thats always flapping its lips. gross

thank you. do love to see people smile but that is what it looks like. have you ever seen one ?? bare i mean? they are about the weirdest thing i ever looked at. not that i go around looking for weird but, i think it has a hemorrhoid by the way it keeps slamming shut.
