Standing on plywood is like standing on the ground. They want to roost. They would get used to a lower roost and would probably choose it over the trouble of going so high. A 2x4 or a long branch... save the trouble and expense of blocking off the rafters.
I will try that first . and the hair cut. if they still go up I will try the chicken wire or plywood floor and cage storage. Might do that anyway. . Lots of great brain storming here today all. Loving it !
