I bought a hen off someone that I thought would be the worse one I ever owned . half the feathers missing, been fighting. they had it away from all the others. gave him $3.00 for her. said she as a red sussex. I dont know if she is or not . she has red feathers spotted with black, white feet. She is the nicest hen I have. always trying to hop in my lap for a pet or under my feet. very tame.

i've got a speckled sussex pudding red with dark blue and white spots
and she is the brassy one of the flock first to everything
to day she helped me eat my bacon butty's

I have speckled sussex too. beautiful bird. I have an older one with spurs and a baby from Old mare. This one dont have white or it may look like that but so many look the same to me. LOL I have a few black hens and Ol mare come over to show me one of them was giving me green eggs . LOl It had muffs. very tiny. I would of never guessed it was her.
