Science diet is a terrible food (in my opinion). It just is. I wouldn't even feed it to the chickens.
You still have to check out and be wary of places that claim to be rescues. You just have to trust, but verify.

the last chick hatched last night!! its a fat thing, silkie again. did i tell you guys that when the power was off and i had the egg in my pit the nurse came to see my husband and it started chirping?? she was looking all around. what could i say??

How are your legbars doing?

they are not over the hump but better. i started them on tylan and on the 3rd day two of them in there seized and died in my hands. not legbars,darker? they came together. i think the shot hit something vital so i stopped giving them. they are all better but there is a few with eyes kept shut and tired. i have lost track of how many have died , different brooders and coops. even some just a couple days old that i hatched. lost the swedish too. i do believe the rest will pull through.

about ten or more, didnt really count.

i bought them with the legbars but they didnt look anything like them, they were dark chickens with even darker(mahogany?) stripes coming on them. there were only the 2, they both died

Do the legbar chicks have spots on their heads like barred rock chicks do?

ummm, not sure. lol they are a creamy color with very faint striping coming. some, most have little tops coming .crested? i will try my best to get some pics tuesday

now why would that not surprise me? he kept showing me the difference in the hens and roos , a little darker but i never did see what he was talking about.
