i got a mothers day present from my husband a couple days ago . 2 deer statues with their little fawns gazing at them adorable! so for fathers day, i ordered him a police scanner. he simply dont know how to use it and is driving me nuts ! i have shown him videos , how to, demonstrated, and nothing ! men just like to push buttons. remotes, whatever it may be. why couldnt i have bought him something that just sits there pretty, like my deer? i make life hard on myself. if he brings the book to me one more time i am going to tell him it is defective and send it back! women, what ever you do this yr. for fathers day, NO buttons ! it comes back to haunt you. lol what ever happened to your kids actually buying/cooking/doing something nice for you ? when did it turn into husband and wife? not that he is not old enough to be my dad , but still. we need to pass on some good ideas about gifts that dont include a headache.

Sorry to hear about your hen. Has your husband been able to see a specialist yet? We've also had quite a bit of rain for the last several days, mostly thunder storms and heavy rain in the afternoons.

Wow granny...he must have really made you mad. Think I'll just cook a nice meal and give my husband a shirt for father's day. My husband is like yours...electronics or anything technical ends up being a big pain for me. He won't read directions or follow instructions and expects me to show him how it works.

lol, i think most of them are like that. hahaha, some are very good with technology i am not. i still havent figured the remote out yet and we have had it for 9 yrs. the dr. was an a.. it was like dr.jeckel and mr hide . he came in the room acting very nice said he seen where tom had been in afib but wasnt now and he wanted to change his meds. ok, he left the room , came back in and sat 2 sample boxes down down and said"i am not a charity and i am not a bank, so if your ins. wont pay for this you will have to buy it yourself or go on coumiden".

i said "i dont recall asking you for anything" and i stood up, and he ran. thats when i got mad. say something nasty, uncalled for then run. i told the nurse to tell him to take the samples that he does not pay for and put them where they would do him good. not in those exact words.

i then called his office manager and reported him and told them he was fired ! he was my dr. too.

If he didn't listen to his heart or do an EKG, how would he know he wasn't in A-fib? Even if I go to my doctor with any problem, he listens to my heart and lungs. He was very rude to you and your husband and I would have reported him too. I'm surprised that they haven't put him on Coumadin yet, especially with his history. Were the samples some other type of blood thinner, such as Pradaxa. They work very much like Coumadin, but the blood doesn't have to be monitored as closely and you don't have to watch your diet.

When my Dad was living, his doctor would give him samples every month for one of his meds because it was so expensive, even with his co-pay. My Dad didn't expect it, but it was really nice of the doctor and my Dad was grateful. Like you said, doesn't cost the doctor anything. Glad you told him what you think. He sounds like an arrogant #$^*hole.

thats right , he didnt know. yes, it was something like that but we didnt fill the script or take the samples. i will just have to find another dr. so much driving here. next one is about an hr. away.

I live in a small town too, and have to drive about an hr. to go to a specialist. Most of the doctors around here are general practitioners. We do have a couple of general surgeons and a orthopedic doctor. Does get aggravating if I have to travel back and forth too many times. Still love the small town atmosphere and wouldn't trade it for the mad rush of a large city.

no, it would kill me to have to go back to the city. i can see it happening though. i am having a hard time taking care of things here and its only gonna get worse as time goes on.
