feel like balling my eyes out. i have been so busy trying to care for the sick chickens and get the babies out of the barn i neglected something. a nest the chickens NEVER use because i took the divider out and it was too big to suit them. after a yr. or more of checking it every day and coming up empty i stopped looking. i just got all the brooders scrubbed out and stacked away. ya, we know where this is going.

ten so far and seen more pipping, two hens in there. what am i going to do with more chickens? i didnt even get a one day break of carrying water to them. i am either going to have to cull some i just got done treating or build a bigger place. i just added to the coop this winter and spring. i dont think i have it in me to build again or cull but this is all i can think of .

What kind(s) are they? Are things such that they would be at risk of exposure to what you've been dealing with or would they be safe to distribute?

it is transmitted to the egg so, no. its not safe. they are so cute too, a lot of silkie i am seeing and maybe cochin. not sure

can someone do the math please? i have built my coop in stages but it is one coop. first it was 8x12 then added 12x20 then 10x20 it was in a L shape its a lot wider the other way now. this is half covered, well, the last 10x20 doesnt have a solid roof. the rest does. completely enclosed with wood is the 8x12. i am running out of room in there and i dont have many ways to take it out further. should of built in a more open space. i think i can go the other direction making it a T shape. a 200 dollar dog kennel would only give me another 10x10 with one panel left over. i could use for the top i guess.

Granny if your having chicks I would start the Denagard it helps to keep it from spreading. With the MG they might not survive but if you have to build on have you seen the hoop coops (runs) they are a lot of space cheap. Of course they still have to be locked up at night. I'll see if I can find a link.

i didnt know they were sitting, i didnt want any more. i have heard the bantams can be sneaky, i believe it. thank you for the link. i am still waiting on someone to help me order the deneguard. i just dont know what i am doing. i have it in the back of my mind to cull all the roosters . they are so beautiful but it would stop any more from coming. i just cant imagine not hearing a rooster crow. i didnt even miss the 2 hens that were sitting. thats how you know you have way too many. be nice if someone had a mg flock that would like them.
