GRAPHIC TEXT !!!!! i just remembered when the last time my bantams were sitting eggs and no, i didnt separate them, when the babies would do the first pip, i am guessing by the development, they are being killed. it is very gross. they open the egg, pull the baby out and as it bleeds out they peck it and all the leftovers in the shell. i am not raising babies anymore but did wonder a reason for this? even now, if i knew who did this i would cull.that is why i ended up with eggs in my bator last time. i couldnt stand to see that . i see no rhyme or reason for it. they are kept in food all day. i thought all bantams were good mamas?

Granny there are good broodies and then there are broodies that are NOT good. I have had this happen with a couple of broodies. I let those broodies sit on eggs until day 18 and then I pull the eggs and give her new ones. I give the eggs to another broody or put them in an incubator.

Hello there Granny glad you and your chicks are doing better!! Been busy fencing and fighting with my near plus the motel is busier then ever. Have my nephew up here helping. Gertude has finally decided to go broody . Trying to keep p wit an 18 yea old is really really tuff on the bright side I seem to be loosing weight Booted one couple from an apartment do to not paying and I think I have to take another one to court to get him out. The idiot did sign a lease so can sue him for court costs as well. I realize that he has no money for rent probably can't pay legal costs also but can then destroy credit rating and renter's history as well. Moral of this DO NOT with twisted.

come on baby, lets do the twist !!! might want to behave yourself. ol ticker like yours may not handle all that ! did my best to do a head count this morning. i barely cracked the door and made them squeeze through. in the bantam coop i counted 86. what happened to 30 being too many?

i feel terrible. i took my new dog to the vet when i first got her for ear infection and they said she was not pregnant, took her for spay today and she was. they spayed her , then called me. they said it was a bad spay because they had to open her bigger and would need pain meds. when she comes home tomorrow. i am not saying i wouldnt of had it done anyway but i am glad the decision didnt come back to me. i will have to crate her at night because they said no activity for a week and she cant jump on the bed. take her out on lease so she dont run around. she is such a bed hog. not happy unless she is almost laying on me somewhere. bet she cries all night. has anyone went through this type of spay before? any tips would be helpful. nervous mama. wait, did i just call myself a .....? LOL

i cant find my little white sumatra. hope i overlooked him somewhere. he is a loner for some reason. i have a little white/black rooster that thinks my shoulder is the best place to get food when i am bringing their feed out. he is first in line for everything. i never held him as a baby so i dont know if he is very tame or very hungry

The same thing happened to me.......

My daughter gave me an Australian shepherd mixed female. While I was out of town for 6 weeks (my brother's death from cancer) she came into season. As soon as I was back in town I called up and scheduled her spaying. I didn't know she was in heat, so imagine my shock when I went to pick her up and the bill was twice what they quoted. Then they told me she was pregnant........ I was kind of sick for a while, too.......

they should let us know unless they dont til afterwards

did your dog have problems and a lot of pain?

this is a low cost place so they wont charge me more except for the pain meds. 15 dollars but they didnt give me choise on the matter and said , they will not send them home without the med. what if i didnt have the 15, would they keep her? i already paid for the spay
