hey granny, here's a story for passing the time.
We took our 9 week old kitten Ebony, to her first vet visit. She had fleas, yuck. Ok, that's not the funny part, that is a lot of work cleaning the house. Not fun.
She enamored every single person in the place. She got herself wrapped around my finger so tightly, I can't breathe,
(no seriously I'm allegic to this beautiful creature but I digress) so we go in the room and the vet walks in and says, I hear you rescued this little one. I just wanted to thank you, not many folks want black cats, in fact, around this time of year they are only adopted to be abused (Halloween)
I had no idea. I was shocked. Now I am really glad we chose her.
She does the exam and we are chatting away and we get ready for kitty shots and wormer and flea meds. All goes super quick. Then they draw the blood. You would have thought they were killing her the way she was carrying on, I mean I know it hurts but geez, enough. So they wrap her leg in a tiny, purple compression bandage and just like that, her leg flies straight up in the air! She is hopping around, unsure of this weird appendage that is chasing her. We are dying.
Imagine the drama, "Do you see this? What is this? It's mine? Well, then my leg is broken for sure. I c c ca..an't move it." Ebony just stares at us like it's our fault.
We get her picture taken for the vet's wall and put her back in the crate and make it home. She stayed in that darn thing til bedtime. She was sure some horrible thing was going to happen again...and it did...as soon as she crawled out we gave her another bath to get rid of all the dead fleas after her pill. More drama, baths haven't been a real problem, just a few attempts at scratching my arms. This time, my arms are looking like a scratching post. LOL *BONUS* no more fleas.
She is fine now, but what a rough day she had.
I just wanted to share, hope you are feeling better.
