i call her a social worker . really she is not. she works for Life t##e resources as a care coordinator for the elderly and the disabled. this is something i contracted on my own. i just called the company and asked for help, explained my problems and she has done everything to try and help. very nice person.

I have worked as a companion, nurses aid and housekeeper, at different times. As far as I can tell, they all involve everything. Cooking, cleaning and bathing. Usually, not driving but everything else. Then again, I was a lot older than 22. Looks to me like she thought this would be an easy job but when I was doing it, I was expected to do whatever was asked of me no matter what my job title/description was.

There were plenty of times I got my supervisor called on me and she/he would make a trip out to visit the client to try to get things straightened out. Usually, it was because I didn't have the qualifications to give meds. That I couldn't do and sometimes the client or their family didn't want to accept that. I guess they thought that if someone was sent out from a medical business that I could give meds and it would cost them less because my title was lower than LPN or RN.

well, thats understandable. about the meds . all i am asking for is a little common sense. 4 hrs for a bath? i know its been a while but surely 4 hrs. every day would turn anyone into a prune. lol

Four hours a day of someone pawing all over my body would turn me into something much worse than a prune.......
Just saying........
LOL, crazy world. i have been living on tv dinners for a while and they taste a lot better served cold then with a side of aggravation. i should know better then to expect something that would of helped. it wouldnt be me-vida loco if every thing went smooth

the part that gets me is a 22 yr old girl complaining that my husband wont let her bath him. really? who wants to? not me, thats for sure. it tom had wanted the help i would of told him go for it (lol) no i wouldnt , but thats besides the fact. IF he had wanted her to it would of been for one reason only. he is old, he is married, he is not dead

i had my eye out for a jersey giant and there is a member on indiana that has a rooster but he is close to 2 hrs. away from me. if i was able to drive. oo lala. he is a splash i think he said. my plans are already going out the window. and i didnt even want a roo i wanted a hen but they are not to be found now. I have to control myself. its so hard to do

Granny- as my husband says about horses, "they make 'em ever' day". What he means is that there are plenty out there so wait for the right one at the right time (for you).

So sorry to hear how hard the care worker has made it for you. It doesn't sound like you're asking for thing unreasonable to me. It's a shame that you have to struggle with one more thing when you should be resting.

Ok there Miss granny you should maybe start checking your mail in a few days. LOL I didn't realize you had walnut issues. Gonna have to suck the fudge and spit out the nuts. ROTF reminds me of a joke.

A Priest was visiting a parishioner in the nursing home and she have a bowl of peanuts by her bed. As they visited the priest kept taking the peanuts and eating them. When the visit was over he realized that he had ate her entire bowl. HE apologized profusely and said he would replace then the next time he visited. She said " oh there's no need to do that father I had already sucked the chocolate off of them"

Ewww, yuck! LOL My husband has lost all his teeth due to diabetes and won't wear dentures. He does the same thing and then asks me if I want the nuts out of whatever candy he's eating. No. Nope. Uh-uh. They are wet and warm. Yuck! LOL
