Granny, the Serama eggs we set under broodies hatched on day 20 or 21. The couple that hatched early were probably eggs that were discovered late and had been sat on for half a day before they were officially set. It was broody chaos then, with 5 hens taking over all three nests and the non-broodies trying to squeeze in to lay where ever they could.

All eggs with external pips hatched and survived. I didn't open the non-hatchers.

I love Sallys hatching guide ! i have read it a couple times. fascinating to me. Wishing4wings, I have my dog gone boot on. it is the most uncomfortable thing besides a bra you could ever stick on a person. thank you and twist for your concern. I guess if i didnt get fussed at i wouldnt be wearing it. I am trying very hard to be good. at my age i wont be running any marathons for sure but to be able to walk and bend my ankle would be nice. besides , Twist does make some awesome fudge !!

mama is awesome !! and that red chick, how did he turn out ? my heat must be too high. nothing to do about it now. it has held steady and i dont want to mess with them at this stage.

I saw a lady at the supermarket yesterday, zooming around in one of those boots. Reminded me of you. Got to keep that Achilles tendon stretched out properly so you don't tear it off your heel again.

I have 2 teens and could get a degree in nagging!

I am not "zooming " anywhere. lol did it come to her knee ? mine does. some just come half way to the knee and i have heard they are much easier to walk in. I dont have good balance to began with from breaking my hip and not getting any help with it.

The male red chick turned into the pretty cockerel that I sold.

oh, he turned out nice. her wings dont turn like the roos? I think, i will have to look again , that my hen turns more then his does. the man that sent them is a breeder and he travels all ove the tri-state to judge the serama shows . some of his birds are almost fake looking. LOL

I didn't notice, but she could walk easily, so probably the calf length boot. Keep yours on for a week and maybe twist will send you a piece of fudge.

I would offer banana bread, but our oven died last week. Went to Sears yesterday and ordered a new one. I'm glad because the one we've been using is old and crappy. Maybe I would like cooking with some up to date equipment. Well, "like" might be too strong a word. "Not hate" cooking sounds about right.

no, his turn straight up and down and hers almost do but not quiet . I have to go to the torture chamber . looks like no one else is going to. think i will make some veggie soup.

you either have that cook gene or you dont. some people get one from a parent and can half ... cook but i didnt .
