yes, genetics sometimes really give you a punch dont they ? my husband and all of his brothers and grandchildren are bowlegged. hahahaa not bad but they do look like they just got off the horse they road in on.

but i cant stand that thing between my tootsies !!!!

I have trouble with that as wel, but a number of years ago my hubby & I were asked to go to Florida with her & her fiancee. She told me to try the Nike brand. Expensive little buggers but only took a couple of days to get used to them & have loved them every since. When warm weather rolls around I start out in short stints wearing them, giving my toes a chance to toughen up slowly.

I will stick with my work boots. I get a new pr. of shoes and forget to change and right into the coop they will go then i am an hr. cleaning the things.

You sound like me on the shoe issue - or I underestimate just how muddy and sloppy it is between house and barn, only to be half way and getting my "good shoes" (aka the tennis shoes that haven't fallen completely apart yet because I am completely lacking the "shoe gene" people think all women have) covered in all sorts of muck. I have taken to leaving my most recently retired tennis shoes outside next to the rubber boots so I can slip one or the other on when I step outside to go to the barn or when I come home and just "have" to run out to the coop real fast before I go "all the way into the house", lol.

I am another who lacks the shoe gene! I have 3 pairs of heels that are at least 15 years old now...... 2 pairs of nice sandals..... My tennis shoes that I wear to work..... All the rest are barn shoes or boots..... I also wear my clothes until it gets embarrassing for Mike to see me in them!

we have come to the age where we realize how much more comfort is important to us then style. as for me, I stayed barefoot til my 40s. I had some pretty tough feet. I have never owned a pr. of heels and am quite sure i would break something if i tried. never carried a purse, wallet only and half the time thats in toms coat pocket. there are TONS of clothing i refuse to wear.
