no, not good. my luck is running in reverse as usual.
Sorry granny girl, it's gotta start cuttin' you some slack pretty soon - you deserve some. How are you holding up with all your company? I hope all the added commotion doesn't put your health in jeopardy. Extra stress is really bad for your sugar. Make sure you try to be up front with your daughter if babysitting is getting to be too much ok.

I use a bungee cord when I'm going in the run and don't want them to push out. I attach it to the door, then pull it tight behind me and attach it to the run. Perfect.

:fl for your hatch granny!

I gave the chicks back yesterday. My poor sweet girl was wailing before they got three feet from us. She knew that was the plan, poor thing. So I'm thinking about getting one back, and buying it some olive egger chicks for company.

Oh poor momma hen

I always let mine raise them for 8 weeks before I let any go. I can't bear to take baby from momma.

Are you talking about chickens? I wasn't very clear; my daughter went with me to drop off the chicks we hatched for our farm friend. She knew it was the plan but was still upset anyway. I'm leaving tomorrow for a conference several states away, and my parents are going to run the house for me. Chicks take so much energy and attention, I just couldn't do that to them.

We'll have chicks again some day. I promised. Then we soothed our feelings with hot chocolate. :D

Oh sorry I must have read that wrong I guess I'm tierd. I knew you hatched them in the house not with a hen  don't know what I was thinking.
Hot chocolate should do the trick! :drool

I'm tired too! Ugh. My baby (3yo in March) woke up at 2:30 this morning with a wet bed. I changed his sheets but he never settled back down, so we fussed the rest of the night. Then I've cleaned ALL DAY. And somehow I'm still awake.

its end of day 20 . they spiked this morn to 105 for at least 2 hrs min.
Don't worry and let things be. Keep temp down but not to far. Keep in mind that mom gets up and the eggs cool down while she's out so don't worry. Don't be to quick to pull the plug either. 21 days is average but not always the norm.

I've had chicks hatch day 20 - 24. Be patient.
