The snow is very pretty and i have NO intentions of going outside. My SIL is stuck here today and perfectly able. All they lack in being able to move is beds so I have offered them mine

. Then the snow comes where they cant move it.

. of course now i have no extra beds for company.

thinking of giving up my couch as well. I have 2 living rooms, or family room so one was decorated nice and one is lived in. or was anyway. they have been sleeping on the nice stuff and not so nice now. Maybe i will start over with a different kind of room in there. dont know what it would be though. It is at the front door. Hope everyone survives the cold. things should be back to normal soon and the first thing i am going to do is go get me some donuts. ever since Ol mare mentioned them i cant stop thinking about just how good they are.

DW talked me into buying a sofa bed and now there is no one to use it. It's very uncomfortable.

I could use a donuts. (yes I know it's plural) There is no car to go get any.

Granny, I sure wish we lived closer. Between my dad, sister, brother and I, we have unwanted beds and furniture all over the place. Against the family genetic code to throw away perfectly good stuff and you can't donate mattresses, so we just kind of keep it. All.

We've posted mattresses on CL and then had to take to the persons who we gave it to. Though when I first went out on retirement someone brought me a monitor cuz mine broke. Even carried it in the house for me. My hands were acting up.

Anyhow as previously stated we bought a sofa bed, but later bought two new sets of twin and a queen set for ourselves.

Now with the kids here it works out.

I asked my granddaughter who said you could move in? She said "Gramma." I said why did you move in? She said "because you miss me."

Any of y'all doing the BYC Easter hatch along? I'm thinking of setting the bator by Wednesday and squeezing in a hatch before the Easter one. I have exactly enough time. I have six sussex eggs, and I'm hoping for six more by Wednesday.

Sussxe are a nice breed. I have one Light. Big Delores. She has a gang. I really should get more but where to put 'em. She goes broody often. I should give her her own coop.

Mine are all speckled, and they really are the best. My rooster is a total gentleman with the ladies, and friendly with us. He's reserved but not aloof. I can handle him when necessary, but neither of us enjoy it.

I don't know if mine are all that big. I have the SS, australorp mixes, and orpingtons. The orpingtons are the biggest, but I guess they're all pretty big. The white layers are smallish, I guess. Like leghorns.

LOL, on the donuts, Granny -- this should tell you what a big deal Horst's is around here. Last night the local FB pages were littered with this update or that on weather, and THE closure that I saw shared the most was that Horst's was going to be closed today.

I had to brave the roads because the horses finished off the last of their round bale overnight (would have grabbed one yesterday before the storm, but get all our feed/hay from Andy at Clifty Feed, so no-go on a Sunday). Had all the milk and bread, but no hay, lol. Made it to town and back - a 1 hour trip taking almost two, not settled in for a long afternoon of doing nothing.

Had to laugh when DH and DS were talking about whether we'd starve or not if we got snowed in - we have 12 dozen eggs in the fridge, I think we'll be okay.

Some fresh doughnuts would be good. We have a small bakery here that has croissants that taste like donuts, they even fill them with cherry, chocolate, lemon, apple,cream, etc. and they are to die for. I'm trying to loose some weight, but maybe just one wouldn't hurt, but it is so hard to stop with just one.

Stay warm and safe and hopefully they can get moved soon.

donut strike !!!! my bakery will be closed again tomorrow. they have about 80 likes !! Old mare, did you like that ? they care about their employees . Takes you an hr. to get to town? I thought mine was bad at 20-25 min. I dont know how much snow we have so far.true to my word, I didnt go out. my walk is shoveled probably for the first time ever. Not the first car has passed by. 1 degree out earlier. I hope the seramas are handling this ok. I cant wait for spring !! Well, I havent said this in a while and its not a done deal either but Grannys gone and done it !!! contracted 3 babies today. just need to wait til the roads are passable to go get them . I have completely forgotten what they are but they throw blue/green eggs. and they are not EEs . it is a mix of 2 breeds. 3 bucks each.

bet someone 5 bucks they will all be roosters.
