Across the valley where I grew up, it is all adobe clay. Terrible stuff. Sticky, sucking, slippery muck in the rainy winter, hard as rock in the summer. (was used to build the missions in calif. some still standing!) No amount of amendments ever helped. Raised beds were the only way to go for summer veggies. Blackberries and figs do well, though.
Figs are kind of a messy sprawling tree, but you can control them well with pruning. Good eating and good cover for ranging Seramas.
Melt a little butter in a big glass bowl. Stir in and coat the mini sized marshmallows and nuke em for about a minute. They'll expand as they get hot and start to melt. Gotta watch em though. When you stir in the crispies, it's like that marshmallow stuff in the jar. I'm too cheap to buy the premade treats!
