Hummers will hatch more than once in the same season and reuse their nest. Don't blame you if you're tired of a poopy wall, but if you leave it up you might get to see some more babies.
I've got some little fart eggs that I left on the counter and they seem to have dried out. Never did smell. Maybe no yolks inside?
You know, I read that, but I wasn't sure if this type of hummingbird did that or not. I think they're Anna's, because that's mostly what I see around here, but I can't tell. I read that Anna's usually make new nests for each clutch, but maybe I'll leave it up for a whole after this one fledges to see if she reuses it. Should I try and take the other egg out (after the baby leaves)? I am pretty tired of the poop wall, and we actually had our house painted right after she started making her nest and I had them leave the whole patio area alone, so they have to come back and do that area after she's done with the nest. Guess it wouldn't kill me to wait another 2 months.
